Summertime!

I finally felt like it was summer last night when I was calling Kelly while driving to meet Rob and Mandy (my two faves!) for dinner. It was such a refreshing feeling to have the wind in my hair and the control of a vehicle once again. (Cliche, I know.) Dinner was at Buffalo Wild Wings and I couldn't have asked for better company. Rob, Mandy, and I had such wonderful conversation that when I started to feel a bit ill halfway through our Coldstone Ice Cream experience, I tried my damnest to will it away; I was having such a good time that I didn't want to leave! Thing was, it was such a beautiful summer night (not too hot that it was unpleasant, but just hot enough so it wasn't chilly) and we were enjoying ourselves outside and it feels so, so great to be with old friends with whom I share mutual love and respect. Rob and Mandy are those people I always talk about: we all got closer while being farther apart. I feel so lucky to be a part of that larger whole and to be a part of their lives. I love being in a position when I can start to really recognize the important people in my life, no matter how much or little I see them. I am incredibly blessed.

Susanne! Glad to hear that you are back again and filled with life! Yes, I am back in Green Bay right now and having relaxed moments spending time with family. I understand what you mean about continued study, it is as if some of me has died in a way. Like I said, it's as if I am less human because of grad school - and imagine that I am in psychology where I am supposed to be learning how to help others understand their own feelings! Imagine that - one of the ironies of the world.

My stay in Green Bay will last until the 6th of September. Then, I will go back to Seattle and classes will begin at the end of September. My family is well, it's weird to be able to hear them talk and be as I type this! My mom just got surgery on her foot (don't worry, nothing serious) and she gets her cast off tomorrow (!). My dad got a new job and he is enjoying himself as much as he can. Unfortunately, I haven't talked to Tyler in a while; I think I may have spoke only 50 words to him since being home for two weeks. He is working a lot and spending time with his girlfriend.

How are Gabe, Manu, and Chantal? I hope they are well; I think about you all often and wish you a good summer. Oh, and you should wait to climb La Dole until I am back with my mother (someday soon, I hope)!

Lots of love and hugs from Wisconsin!

I am soooo happy that you have kept up with your blog to now update your west coast friends on your midwest activities. It really made me feel like I knew what you were up to while you were away. I also am very happy that I am yet again included in your write up of GB life. Hopefully I can find my way in this blog again....:)

MANDY! Hi woman! Cool - you figured out how to post, too! I changed my settings (I didn't even know I HAD settings) to include people who don't have a blog, so now people don't have to make one to post. I know, I rock. (And so do you!) :)
