Stats Is Kicking My Ass

Hello. I love you, let me tell you my name. Hello. I love you, let me play at your game. I don't know if those are the real words, but it's fun to pretend. I am doing statistics homework right now and, up until last class, I have been aceing the material. I feel like I really know my stuff. Well, that was until we hit regression and correlation. Not hard stuff, she just didn't explain it very thoroughly, so I am struggling with the last parts of the homework.

I finally got to workout today after a week of not being able to fit it in. But now, I'm mentally AND physically exhausted, not to mention I still have a million things to do. I am trying to take it piece by piece because I know I need to keep my mental health intact first and foremost. It's HARD! Plus, I just interviewed for a job today and I have another interview for a different job in 2 weeks, so I will definitely be working next quarter. Yikes. (And all this after one of my colleagues tells me that she is NOT working next quarter because 10 hours per week is just too much for her right now! What am I getting myself into?)

Okay, I suppose I should now explain to you a bit about my cohort, though it can't be long because I have stuff to do. I'll just tell you about my friends and the breakdown of the group and leave it at that for now, cool?

So, Kelly and Christine are my two closest friends in the cohort. Erin is pretty much there, too, but she's just becoming part of our group. I think the reason we (me, Kelly, and Christine) are so close is because the three of us (and possibly one more, Brita - pronounced BREETA) are surely going for our PhD, whereas the other 11 are doing only Master's level plus certification work. We also just seem to get along the best. You see, the breakdown of the group goes a little something like this: we have the trifacto (consisting of Eric, Jen, and Tyler), the M's (consisting of Maryann, Morgan, Matt, Megan, and Maggie), the K's - that's my sorry attempt at a K/C sound - (consisting of Christine, Kelly, and myself) and then a few outliers who are either slowly making their way into groups or just content being loners (consisting of another Megan, Brandon, Erin, and Brita). Really, I'm serious, that's how it breaks down. The M's all somehow clicked and the K's all somehow clicked and everyone else is really just by themselves. Now, the trifacto is an interesting story...Jen and Eric are sister and brother, while Tyler is Jen's boyfriend. Jen and Tyler are just fresh out of undergrad (like me) and Eric just turned 27. Jen and Tyler live together, have been dating for almost 3 years, and live across the street from Eric and his girlfriend (who, thankfully, is NOT in our cohort). Phew. So, there you have it. Another pivotal point in the daily drama that is my life and a small, yet important glimpse into my world.

Enjoy it while you can and get back to me later.
