Anyhow, I had a good time last night. Sometimes I was bored, but it was fine. I just ordered myself a strong little Long Island and I was good to go. A little tipsy-ness never hurt anyone.
I met a whole bunch of different people last night, but I have been feeling less and less like being the center of attention - I know you're shocked now too - seemingly my past credo. Nah, it's a much different lifestyle here, let me tell you. I got all dolled up and felt a bit...too dressed up for a Friday night. No one really glams it up here. Well, at least not the people I know. Bonnie and Rebecca think I am super girly. I think that's funny because I consider myself pretty low maintenance and for those of you who know me well, you probably remember my "man" stages...when I dedicated whole weeks to not showering. Sadly enough, those days are over, but I still consider myself relatively low maintenance.
Anyhow, there is a story involved here, but not a makeout one...I know, you are probably all super disappointed. Sorry.
So, there was this elk on the wall and I told Bonnie that I really wanted to kiss the stuffed elk , but only if she'd take a picture to capture the moment. Unfortunately, my camera batteries were dead. I forgot about that idea while being introduced to other people, but when I met this guy named Pete (a structural engineering grad student at UW), he reignited my desire to kiss the elk. He also agreed that if we did the deed, it must be remembered for years to come on my digital camera. In effect, we decided to go to the QFC (a supermarket in Seattle) across the street to buy batteries. Yes, that's right. We did. It was super funny and we had a great time doing it. Me in my knee high hooker boots and him in his bike shoes, clicking across the sidewalk. Good times. We got the batteries (plus a beer) and here are the pictures we are supremely proud of:
Isn't this one awesome? I look so hardcore, it's sick. Plus, Bonnie succeeded in cutting off Pete's head. Ha!
Me and Bonnie. WOW. Look at those eyebrows! They're practically bushes!
I had to put this one on here. This is Brian, Rebecca's boyfriend. Classic picture. This is typical.
Hope you all enjoyed the pics! Now I have to work. Leave me alone. :)
