Friday night, I went to a BBQ with Rebecca at her boyfriend's house in Kirkland. I didn't eat anything, I just wanted to meet his obnoxious roommates. I ended up meeting these people and having a really intense and satisfying conversation with this guy named Adam about social responsibility and our place in the world. It was really great! He was an awesome dude to talk to about teaching and learning and such.
Then, Saturday I did some grocercy shopping in the morning before Colleen, Chandra, and Kyle came to pick up the car that I was borrowed while Sarah was in town. We went out for lunch at Top Pot and had a few laughs. Colleen dropped me off at Kelly's house and we ended up taking a walk down by Lake Washington. It was beautiful, pics below. There is a great dog park on the path and we stood to watch the dogs play for a while. Relaxing and stressful at the same time. Dogs are crazy!
Kel and I studied after that, though we didn't get much done. Oh well. She drove me home and I called Jesse (a guy from Wisconsin that I had class with in Minnesota who just recently moved out to Seattle and contacted me) so we could hang out. We had been meaning to get together for a while, so finally we decided to just get some drinks. He came by after I finished more homework and we chatted before deciding to go to the Dutchess - a place frequented by Zack and I when we were dating. (You may see where this is going.) So we get there and who do I see? Zack. Of f'ing course. And I find out later that he is with a girl. HA! (I so accurately predicted he'd have a new girl in a month's time or less. Boy was I right on.) I introduced Zack and Jesse before Jesse and I sat down and starting talking. (To tell you the truth, I don't much feel like justifying my friendship with Jesse to Zack. I don't really care if he thinks we're dating or not. Whatever I say isn't going to change how he feels about it.) I gave Jesse the rundown of me and Zack just as Zack came over to introduce Amber to me. (Yep, her name is Amber and she's unemployed too. Misery loves company!) It was so obvious to me that he wanted to let me know that he was there with a girl. I hate that. I don't want to play that game. Whatever. (That's also why I don't feel I have to justify being there with Jesse to him. No obligations whatsoever.) It was humorous and after they left, Jesse found out all about Zack and we ended up talking about relationships for a while afterwards. It was interesting. You can learn a lot about someone by how they perceive relationships. Anyhow, I got home around midnight, called Tyler to tell him all about it and went to bed.
This morning, I woke up and told my roomies all about last night. Also, I discovered that she may have slept over at his house because her assumed car was still at his house this morning. I don't mean to spy, but he's my neighbor for crying out loud! They both think he's a dog...I don't, but who really knows, right?
Then, I met up with this girl from Wisconsin for breakfast at the Grateful Bread and we chatted for about 2 hours - it was really wonderful. I walked over to Kel's later today and we took a walk down to the dog park to people/dog watch a bit. Then, we went to get frozen yogurt and now we are at the lib. Phew. I seriously gots to get to work, people. Enjoy the pics and we'll talk soon, je promis. (I promise.)
This is Lake Washington by which Kel and I walked yesterday and today. It's beautiful!I actually almost fell in right before taking this picture! Kel almost had a heart attack and I wouldn't have been very happy. Cute though, ain't it?
This is from the top of one of the hills in my neighborhood. Imagine running up and down these suckers. Seriously, it's work. This is the kind of view I have every damn day. I'm so lucky! Now you can see why I love Seattle!
This is Kel holding my coffee from Top Pot. I love this picture of her because she's genuinely laughing and the sun is shining - it's just pretty! She's so great!
And this is Christine, but last weekend. Just thought since I've posted a pic of Kel from this weekend, that you'd all want to see what Christine looked like, too. Here she is! (She's great, too. I love my friends!)
K, gots to work. Love you!
